News! 2nd change for Nintendo DS has been made! This time, we will have Nintendo DSi!

Nintendo’s Media Summit has just thrown us its first juicy bone of the night, and it’s a big one. Satoru Iwata has revealed the Nintendo DSi, the direct successor to the DS Lite. Hit the break and refresh for regular updates!

-Overall size has been reduced — DSi is 12% or 2.6 millimeters slimmer than the Lite.
-Comes with an external 0.3 Megapixel camera (for 640 x 480 pixel pictures) and a VGA camera located on the hinge, directed towards the user. You’ll be able to edit pictures using the touchscreen.
-Full music playback functionality, including adjustable pitch and playback speed.
-Both screens have been expanded to 3.25 inches.
-SD memory card slot is included, and there’ll be on-board memory also.
-Will ship with an built-in Nintendo DS web browser.
-DSi will allow users to download games from DSWare, a new service that operates with Wii Points — or, as they are now known, Nintendo Points.
-Logging onto DSWare for the first time will grant users 1,000 free Nintendo Points.
-DSWare comes in four pricing categories: free (!), 200 Nintendo Points, 500 Nintendo Points, and 800 Nintendo Points.
-Will come in lovely matte white and matte black. Begone, foul fingerprints that have taunted us so!
-And finally, it launches on November 1st in Japan, and will cost ¥18,900, or roughly $179.

Alright, I will give a small and early review for Pokemon Platinum. I don’t understand Japanese at all, so I will just give the review according to what I see and only just my guess. I’m just a regular Pokemon fans, and I play this japanese version because I really want to know the new things they include in this new game. I just can’t wait until they release the US/EUR version :p

I’ll post some picture here, screenshot from the game. Most of the comparisson was between Platinum and Diamond, but some of these was taken from Pearl.

Okay, Pokemon Platinum is another Pokemon games for Nintendo DS. We can safely say that Platinum is just like Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, combined into one, with some add ons everywhere. The differences are like the new clothes of the main characters, new sprites, new animation sprites, new form for some Pokemon like Giratina, Shaymin, and Rotom, slightly different cut scenes and events, and new dungeons. There is no new Pokemon, just new form for some Pokemon, like I’ve said before. Well, since I’ve just played for a moment, it’s just my hunch, based on what Nintendo had said. The graphic has a little improvement, just a little. Platinum has better map sprite. I see that the trees are greener and other small differences in other sprites as well (check the differences in the screenshots I post below there).

Hmm… The background-line has been changed to some kind of crack… And Giratina surely looks scary there… After start button pressed, we can hear Giratina’s cry.

Pokemon Platinum has been released in Japan now! Wow, sooner than I expected. The japanese version was expected to be released tomorrow, 13th September 2008. The US and EUR release date still to be announced. Probably around April 2009, if I guess right. Get one in your nearest game store. Or, you can download the ROM in Romulation.

I will make the small review soon enough, and compare it to Pokemon Diamond (not Pearl, though it’s about the same).

Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happines

Another good game for NDS, and this is Harvest Moon! The USA version of the game was released at 26th August 2008. If you’re looking for the ROM, check romulation.net, your best bet for NDS Rom!

Anyway, what’s so different compared to other Harvest Moon games? I’ll just give a short review for this game because I haven’t play it long enough. Well, it’s for NDS, so we got 2 screens to see. Top screen is the map, where we can see all of our neighbours location. Pretty handy, for the first time I thought the icon in the map was showing their home, but I was wrong. You can track every person in the map. The touch screen of course is showing our character and we play most of time with this screen. We only can control the character with stylus and touch screen, no D-pad. Kinda annoying for me, but I get used to it anyway.

Now each crop has different quality. The higher the quality, we can get higher price. It depends on the weather and the maintenance. Pretty realistic I guess. Some people say that money is easier to get here. Yeah I think so, but in exchange there are more stuffs to buy, so it’s all the same.

The animals? Pretty much the same I guess. The storyline? This is a new story, not another boy/girl who get the farm from his/her grandfather or whatever. The character (we can chose boy/girl in the beginning of the game) got an accident and ended up in deserted island. In the beginning there were only few people there, and more people will join the fun eventually, one by one. That’s include the bachelors/bachelorettes that we can marry.

If you want to know more detailed information, tips and tricks about this game, I suggest you to visit www.fogu.com or I like to call it Ushi no Tane (Harvest Moon in japanese). The best site for Harvest Moon games information. To get directly to Island of Happiness part, go here.

And finally… for you cheaters, ehm, that’s including me of course, I got a good site that have codes for this game. Use it with your own risk. Using cheat will ruin the fun of the game. Have a nice play.
